Guam (Guåhån) is a small island located in Northern Mariana Island and the capital city is Agana (Hagåtña).
Japanese Invasion (1941)
On December 8, 1941, Japanese army under command of General Tomitaro Horii invaded the island of Guam in Mariana. U.S. armies were outnumbered by well-prepared Japanese and the island was taken by Japanese after two days.
Starting day (July 21, 1944)
On July 21, 1944, U.S armies attacked Guam. In the first day of the fight, Japanese were able to defend their line with many losses.
Japanese retreat
Japanese did not have enough supplies and they step back to the mountains. U.S force went after them through heavy rainforest.
Japanese Surrender
After 19 days at August 8, 1944, U.S reclaimed the Island of Guam. One Japanese soldier hides inside the cave for 27 years and he was discovered living alone.
